Another village abandoned after the Turkish Cypriot exodus.
From the Paphos to Polis road take the turnoff to Lyso. At Peristerona there is a turnoff to the right signposted to Trimithousa. The sometimes tarmac, sometimes concrete, road takes you down into the village. Alternatively, if you have visited Evretou you may drive up from there.
There is not a great deal to see but it is probably worth a walk around so that you may imagine what used to be while you search for wild flowers.
There is a vrisi with a raised catchment pond. From here you can walk down an overgrown track through the remains of the village. Up from the vrisi, on the concrete road, you should see the iron gateposts and the broken steps leading up to the schoolhouse. If you drive along from the vrisi and keep to the right a track will lead you to T-junction. Here turn right, then right again then immediately left. This is a dead end track to the white-painted, green-shuttered mosque past the remains of a mud brick house. The mosque has no minaret and access can be gained only by climbing through a window.
From Trimithousa you can descend on a rough vehicle track to Evretou by following the track towards the mosque but then turning left at the T-junction. Alternatively, you can turn right on the concrete road just past the school then head through the outskirts of Philousa and below the ridge to Instinjo and Sarama.
