This village is part of a chain of mainly ex-Turkish Cypriot villages which extends up to Lyso.
The easiest way is to take the Paphos to Polis road then turn off for Lyso. From the centre of Lyso take a right-hand turn opposite the Cultural Centre then follow the small signposts to Melandra. After the side-by-side church and mosque take the improbable-looking track to the right which leads to Zakharia.
Another route is to take the Paphos to Polis road then turn off for Simou. After a few kilometres the road is signposted left to Sarama and Instinjo. Descend on a tarmac road to the valley floor and cross the stream over a concrete bridge. Before you reach the concrete bridge a sign directs you to the mediaeval Skarfos Bridge which you may wish to visit. Across the concrete bridge take the right-hand track to Instinjo and Sarama. On the right of the track are the signposted remains of a ruined mill which you may also wish to visit. Proceed through an ever-changing quarry then take the second track to Sarama which is signposted as 500 metres. (The first track signposted to Sarama advertises two kilometres.). Drive through Sarama then carry straight on up the hill until you arrive at a junction at which you are directed right to Instinjo. At the top of a cobbled track turn right at the T-junction beside the vrisi then drive up the sometimes rough track to Zakharia.
Having struggled to get here there is not much to see. Merely piles of stones represent the old buildings. On the main track through the village is a glassless, steel-frame fronted building which appears to have once been a shop and below this is a small square concrete reservoir and few concrete water troughs.
You may return by whichever route you came on or, alternatively return by reversing the other incoming route described.
